Hidden Blade (3.0 - Gravity)

Video:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4mMe9W1rPk

Gravity Hidden Blade:
Just got the AC encyclopedia as a gift so... new design for a simple, sturdy prop matching the looks of the AC hidden blade from the AC encyclopedia. Despite the lack of a DAOTF mech in the design, I actually really like this design. Super simple, light, realiable and has the OS looks from the game. Safety ring from DAOTF hidden blade 2.0 has been improved/modded for this blade.

Made with 3D Printer (Vero Black), super glue, tape, string, springs/spring wire, and silver/black/gold paint.

Hey! You have inspired me to create my own version of the hidden blade (prop of course). However, I have had a few mishaps with the blade extending without my consent (I accidentally pull the ring). I was wondering if you would be so kind as to make a tutorial/in-depth explanation of your safety ring. I think it would prevent many injuries from occurring.
Thank you very much,
Tom

Holy crap, that gun mechanism is awesome!
Love your work! ^^

Just out of curiosity, do you have access to a good 3d printer just because you work at a place that has one, or know someone who does, or do you own it for a business or something?
Because it's a great technology, and I'd certainly like to have access to it myself.

I have access to an Eden 350 via my job, but Shapeways.com is a good place if you don't have access to the tech yourself.

Yeah I know about those websites, and that one in particular, they're a great service!
One thing we've considered is, in lieu of sculpting models (oh yeah, me and my brother sculpt warhammer models), we could model them on a 3d program and have them printed, then duplicate them in resin.
But actually having one of those machines is the real dream, perfectly geometric product, fairly cheap material, no labour involved in production; it would make selling models a dream ~<3
